Dance Socks from Cocos Closet Review
My daughter has been meeting 2 days a week to practice traditional dances for a Quinceanera that she is participating in. She has been coming home with sore feet for a while now, they are so sore that sometimes she’s almost crying from the pain. I wasn’t sure how to help her other than take her to the doctor which resulted in nothing. So when I came across Dance Socks I figured we don’t have anything to lose by trying them. They have helped some but there’s still pain. DanceSocks were created to be used on wood floors with sneakers. They take the tension away from the balls of your…

Green Goddess Smoothie Recipe
Green Goddess Smoothies are a popular summer time drink in my family and this one is a crowd pleaser with the kids. We live Vanilla Bean Yogurt in ours but you could use any vanilla or plain yogurt of choice. We also use baby spinach so we add an extra cup. If you are using regular spinach one cup may be enough. I sometimes add Fage to it for extra protein if we’re having a lite lunch or dinner. It seems to hold the kids longer. Green Goddess Smoothies Directions Blend 2 cups spinach, 1 cup yogurt, 1 cup orange juice and 2 bananas until smooth. you don’t want large…

Community Garden Update – Squash & Melon Beds
I planted these beds in early June and at the time they were just starts and I wasn’t sure how they were going to do because I started a few weeks late. I must say they are healthy and taking off real nicely. Pictured are watermelon, cantaloupe, an unidentified melon, butternut squash, patty pan squash ( it might have died actually, can’t remember), a yellow cucumber, I think we have a zucchini, a pickling cucumber and a pumpkin. Not pictured, we have lots of tomato plants (some heirloom), tomatillo ( purple and green), pepper plants, sweet bell peppers, broccoli, egg plant, onions, radishes, red leaf lettuce, and there’s probably a…

Yoga for Weight Loss Review
I have never been into Yoga but wanted to find some things that I could do around the house that would encourage me to keep working out. I have always been off balance my entire life, so I was hoping that by learning yoga my balance would improve. My sister has gone to some pretty hardcore yoga classes before and asked me to go with but I didn’t feel comfortable attending a Bikram yoga class (where the heat the room up to a high degrees) with my asthma. I found Yoga for Weight Loss by GAIAM and really like it. Some of the moves are more difficult than I realized…

Garlic & Chili Coconut Shrimp Wraps
Recipe for Spicy Garlic & Chili Coconut Shrimp Wraps I love cooking exotic foods but they can take too long to make. This recipe takes less than 15 minutes to make and is super yummy! A perfect dinner item even for the kiddos. *Note: The chili sauce is a specialty item located in the Asian food isle of most grocery stores. It is a Vietnamese sauce. Short clear bottle with red liquid inside. Green cap. Free Slurpee Day at 7-Eleven Turns Violent as Customer Dumps Slurpee on Employees Head
Today is 7-Eleven’s annual free slurpee day, a day that should be fun for our children but instead has turned into a lesson on treat others how you want to be treated. As my kids and I walked into 711 we noticed the line was huge and it was going to be a wait. The kids didn’t mind, that is of course until we witnessed a disgruntled customer dump his free slurpee on top of the employees head who was pouring them for approximately 20-30 customers! It all went so fast and I think I was in disbelief and shock. WHO does that. Who is that disrespectful and mean. As…
