Recipes
My frugal saving tips include quick easy dinner recipes using ingredients that I get by using coupons, shopping farmers markets, clearance isles, and by shopping strategically online. Easy home cooking recipes include dinners, simple lunches and breakfast options that are both frugal and tasty. I strive to bring my readers lunch recipes kids will actually eat, and quick easy breakfast that you can grab while running out the door. By easy I mean things that do not take more than 30 minutes to make, and easy quick dinner recipes are always simple with no complicated directions or ingredients to go searching for. Since this is a lifestyle blog, occasionally you will find adult drink recipes and homemade things like bread, granola and cheese tutorials. Throughout my blog you will find grocery shopping tips to save money so that you are able to stretch your food budget while always having food in the fridge and cupboards. This frugal family does not believe in eating a lot of boxed ingredients or highly processed foods. We prefer simple home cooked meals that are minimally processed, but from time to time you will find meal ideas using boxed goods and top brands.

6-Minute Instant Pot Spanish Red Quinoa
I purchased an Instant Pot a couple weeks ago to make cooking meals easier since I have gone back to work full time. I did not expect to fall in love with it like I have. I have fallen completely head over heels for this thing. I really thought I would use it to cook beans to make hummus, refried beans, black bean soup, and to cook rice quickly. I didn’t expect to be using it as much as I am but it really makes dinner so much faster. It’s got some nice features such as keeping food warm and sauteing food in the pot before sealing it. You can…

Chicken Pasta in Fresh Greek Yogurt Using Foster Farms Simply Raised Chicken
This is a sponsored post written by me for Foster Farms Simply Raised Chicken This week I have teamed up with to talk about what comfort food means to me. Over the years my thoughts on what comfort foods are and what they mean to me have evolved. Especially since I became more of a foodie. I still find myself going back to the more traditional comfort foods I was brought up eating. My family loves comfort food, and with fall just around the corner the rain is going to start any day now. One of my favorite things to eat during the colder months is fried chicken. I am…

How to Cook for a Week Without Even Thinking About It
This post is sponsored and written by Kraft to help back to school families prep ahead with quick healthy meals. Here are a few things that give me a serious case of the sads: daily grocery store trips, half-empty boxes of pasta in my freezer, beautiful veggies aging before my eyes. I’m always trying to cut back on waste, especially as the holiday season picks up and time and funds become more limited. That’s why it’s so important to me to take a little bit of time on Sundays to plan meals for the week ahead. Luckily for you, dear reader, I’m a generous person. So today, I’m sharing our…

Easy 30 Minute Stove Top Ziti
I love baked ziti from Olive Garden but we’re trying to cut back on restaurants right now. I wanted a homestyle version that would take me less then an hour, and I was able to cut it down to only 30 minutes! This recipe includes 5 minutes bake time, but is otherwise completely stove top ziti. I feature Ragu’s new Homestyle Thick and Hearty Traditional sauce in this easy stovetop ziti recipe. This simmered in tradition sauce is the newest addition to Ragu’s line of pasta sauces. Ragu is huge in their story, and wanted to bring to life the “homestyle” flavors of homemade pasta sauce without the inconvenience of…

Easy Turkey Stuffing Recipe for Cornbread Sage Infused Stuffing
Stuffing is traditionally served with turkey on Thanksgiving day in my family, and for the longest time I hated it. No one in my family knows how to make it. All they do is throw some bread comes into butter and stuff the turkey with it. No seasoning, onions, celery or anything. Literally breadcrumbs and butter! I grew up eating that nasty stuffing until I left home. This easy turkey stuffing recipe really is easy. It took me less then 10 minutes to make, and that included chopping the veggies that went into it. This is a 5 ingredient turkey stuffing recipe that is oh so delicious. You can add…

So who’s excited for Halloween? I bet your kids are talking about it already. Stores already have Halloween decorations on display, and I have been seeing people buy them so I know people are starting already. The treats are coming out to but I prefer to make mine because making them is both cheaper and entertainment for my two teens. The Dollar Tree has tons of cute Halloween themed treat boxes, and other goodies to store your treats in, so make sure to take a look there. I also got all of the ingredients at Dollar Tree to.
