Recipes
My frugal saving tips include quick easy dinner recipes using ingredients that I get by using coupons, shopping farmers markets, clearance isles, and by shopping strategically online. Easy home cooking recipes include dinners, simple lunches and breakfast options that are both frugal and tasty. I strive to bring my readers lunch recipes kids will actually eat, and quick easy breakfast that you can grab while running out the door. By easy I mean things that do not take more than 30 minutes to make, and easy quick dinner recipes are always simple with no complicated directions or ingredients to go searching for. Since this is a lifestyle blog, occasionally you will find adult drink recipes and homemade things like bread, granola and cheese tutorials. Throughout my blog you will find grocery shopping tips to save money so that you are able to stretch your food budget while always having food in the fridge and cupboards. This frugal family does not believe in eating a lot of boxed ingredients or highly processed foods. We prefer simple home cooked meals that are minimally processed, but from time to time you will find meal ideas using boxed goods and top brands.

Pumpkin Ginger Delight Cupcakes
I love a good cupcake recipe and this recipe that my daughter developed makes the best cupcakes I have ever eaten. I’m not going to pretend these are fast to make. She ground the clover and ginger root by hand and she sifted all loose ingredients several times before adding to my Kitchen Aid mixer. Plus she used fresh pumpkin puree from a pumpkin in our garden. The end result is so worth the time though. If you’ve got some extra time on your hands you need to make these.

Copy Cat Chocolate Chai Tea Latte
Don’t you just love it when Starbucks comes out with new drinks? I swear every time they do my pocketbook get skinnier and skinnier. I found a new drink at Starbucks that I am in love with, but paying $4.00 7 days a week is killing my bank account so it’s got to stop pronto. If you are a fan of their Chocolate Chai Tea Latte then you are going to love my version. It tastes identical to theirs but mine has pumpkin in it to celebrate Fall. I think it’s delicious and it’s been kid tested and passed.

If you haven’t tried this miracle food they are available at places like Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s for around $4.99…

My price reflects the free carrots I got from my garden and the salmon my husband caught last month. The red potatoes were on sale this week for .59 cents a pound at Safeway through my just 4 U account. I am not sure how much the Knorr packet was but I know it was less than $1. This soup makes 4-5 servings. Ingredients 1 pound diced red potatoes 1 pound diced carrots 1 pound salmon skinned and bones removed I packet (.22 g) Knorr brand…
