    Product Review: Boston Tea Company

Recently I had the opportunity to review the Boston Tea company. Yes, this is the same company that experienced the tea fiasco in 1773! So if the company is still around after all those years you’ve certainly got to know that this is a good company with superior products. I love tea, and to show you just how crazy I am for it here is a picture of my tea cabinet! You can’t see it very well but they are double stacked, and the cabinet is deep. See, I told you So when I was offered the opportunity to review Boston Tea I was overjoyed. What I didn’t realize…

Frugal Style is a new series of blog posts that I came up with to help my fans save even more money during 2012, every month there will be a new theme. January’s theme is money saving tips on every day food groups. The first Frugal Style article for January was on meat. Today’s frugal tip is on Milk and other dairy products. They can be costly, especially if you have children in the home. Here are my tips for bringing the cost of dairy products down. Write a list. A list will help you not overspend. Write down how much yogurt, cheese, and milk you need so you don’t…

    >Product Review & Giveaway: Nature’s Hand Granola

    > I had the opportunity to review Nature’s Hand Granola, a company dedicated to creating delicious granola that’s both tasty and healthy. I reviewed 2 products from the company; French Vanilla Almond and Wild Blueberry. You can see a photo of the Wild Blueberry below. Notice how it’s not clumpy and it’s dry instead of wet looking and it doesn’t appear to be covered in sugar? That’s because the company makes the granola with a combination of raw honey and brown sugar to lightly sweeten the grains but not overpower the grains with sugar. This granola in low in calories and fat but loaded with other nutrients such as protein,…

    Product Review: Zevia

    > Zevia Review If you’re trying to lose weight or avoid sugary drinks for your New Year’s resolution then I’ve got the perfect product for you! I found a soda product called Zevia that has 0 calories and is sugar free, and is actually really good. Zevia is sweetened with Stevia, a little plant related to the sunflower and is 300x times; yes I said 300x, sweeter than white sugar. It has no caloric value and will not affect your blood sugar levels so it is diabetic safe.  There are 12 flavors of Zevia but I’ve tried just a few. The cola flavor was a bit strong for me, and…

    How to Save on Meat

Meat is the one item I hear the most about. Savers want to know how they can save money on animal proteins since there is often no coupons. I read a lot of comments asking … Where are the meat coupons? How can I cut down on meat costs? Here are my tips and tricks to saving big on meat.  Coupons: While it is true that you won’t find many meat coupons circulating in coupon inserts, meat coupons do exist. Currently, in my coupon binder I have coupons for Fresh Turkey Trays, lunch meat, sausage roll & links, bacon, and eggs. Look for meat coupons in the meat…

    Home Free Treats Review

I recently reviewed Home Free organic treats. The company makes cookies, coffee cake, and baking ingredients for people with food sensitivities. They also have a cookbook and offer a food service. I reviewed their organic cookie products. Home Free makes cookies that are egg, nut, peanut, and dairy free. Some of their cookies are also Gluten free. The facility where the cookies are made is an allergy safe environment. You won’t find nuts, legumes, fish or shell fish, soy, sesame in their kitchens at any time. I found it interesting that the company is also very careful where they purchase their ingredients to make their products. They ensure…

    Brillo Estracell Sponges Review

Recently I had the opportunity to review Brillo products for cross contamination. I reviewed Brillo Estracell sponge and Brillo Estracell  wedge sponge. Both products worked well in my kitchen over the holiday. My oldest make lots of cookies and other desserts and made a huge mess. I was grateful to have the sponge wipe to use. It worked well on my kitchen table, and is large enough that it fits in the palm of my hand. The wedge sponge worked perfectly on dishes and hard to reach places. I liked that the wedge sponge has a scrubbing side to it. According to Brillo, their products rinse out better…
