Warriors in Pink: Review of Ford Cares Giving Program

Are you or someone you know a survivor of breast cancer? Warriors in Pink is a brand created by Ford Motors to help stop the threat of breast cancer. They have been active in the fight against breast cancer since the 1990’s and Warriors in Pink was first established in 2006 as a way to further support the fight. 100% of the proceeds goes directly to the fight against the cancer. Ford Cares has a line of products that are breast cancer awareness in nature: clothing,  stationary, accessories and car decals. Each item features a unique design that was created with a special message behind it. The money from the products is given to a wide range of charities that support the breast cancer research and support victims of the terrible disease. Ford has given more than 120 million dollars to breast cancer awareness efforts, research and to help the victims.

Ford Cares offered me the chance to do a review of their site and their line of products. I was amazed at how nice the products were. I loved every item I received and felt proud that Ford would ask me to feature them on my blog.

According to The American Cancer Association, breast cancer is the most common form of cancer in the US, other than skin cancer and it is the second leading cause of cancer death in America. I don’t know anyone who has had breast cancer and I can’t say that I know someone who’s family or friend has suffered from the disease either but I have strong admiration for those who have struggled and won the fight against breast cancer. I do know that the disease accounts for more than 39, 620 deaths of innocent women in 2013 alone! Those deaths took mothers, grandmothers, cousins, sisters and aunts away from their loved ones. The chance of having breast cancer is 1 in 8. That means if a group of 8 women were standing around that one of them would have the cancerous breast tissue.

The fact is that breast cancer is a torturous disease that effects millions of people every year and more research needs to be done to find a cure  for all types of cancers. That is where Ford Cares comes into play. Ford is dedicated to the cause and believes early intervention saves lives. In order to get early intervention women must be aware of their risk factors and fully understand what to look for and to know that regular screenings are necessarily.  Fords goal is to keep the topic of breast cancer alive and in the hearts of the people. If we are aware then we talk and we will have early prevention.
