Summer Camp Ideas for Teens
SUMMER CAMP IDEAS FOR TEENS
When it comes to your teen years, the time spent in summer is the one you remember after growing up. If you have teens yourself, it becomes your job to ensure that their summers are as fun as yours used to be. However, finding the best summer camp ideas for teens can be difficult. You have to ensure that the teens won’t get bored. Here are some amazing summer school ideas for even the pickiest of teens –
Fun Activity Camp – Instead of going for a theme, you can make a haphazard fun camp with a lot of great activities. For instance, shaving the balloon. This activity requires parental supervision since a razor is used. All you need is to fill up a balloon and coat it with shaving cream. Now, divide your teens into groups and ask them to shave the balloon. Make sure that they are wearing gloves, just to make the activity a bit safer and a lot more difficult. The catch is – the shaving has to be done carefully because a small nick would burst the balloon and cover everyone in foam.
Dress Up Camp – This camp activity is not as childish as it sounds. Ask the teens to dress up and give them a theme. It could be as simple as their favorite show, sport or book. Now, host a competition, giving awards for best costume, best group, best ideas, and so on. This game is best played when you have a large number of teens to keep busy. After the event is over, have a themed party and spend the night around the campfire, asking the teens to stay in character.
Sherlock Holmes Camp – This is a clue based camp where you hide something and ask the teens to find it. You could involve the local mall in this camp. Divide the teens in two groups and give them the first set of clues. This would lead them to a particular shop in the mall where the staff would hand the team leader the next clue. Following all the clues would lead them to their prize and the winning team gets to keep it.
There has to be some physical activity and messiness involved in a camp. Make sure your summer school ideas focus on where the interests of your teens lie. For instance, if your teens are interested in sci-fi, your summer camp ideas should revolve around Doctor Who, Firefly and Star Trek.
