Homemade Shaving Cream with Shea Butter for Women
I am sure you’ve seen the Pinterest activity about shaving cream lately. It is HOT. I had no idea so many people were wanting to use homemade cream to shave their legs. Even the guys are partaking in this trend.
My homemade shaving cream with Shea butter is phenomenal, and this recipe makes an entire 16 oz jar. After using this shaving cream you won’t want to return to store bought.
The supplies you are going to need are below. You will also need a stand mixer or handheld electric mixer. As a last resort you can mix this with a whisk but it won’t be easy, and I personally would not advise it. When I create recipes I go for easy. I don’t add ingredients in any certain order unless there is a reason for it. For this project you can throw it all into the mixing bow however you want.
2/3 cup Shea butter
2/3 coconut oil
1/4 cup olive oil
2 tablespoons of baking soda
2 tablespoons fractionated coconut oil
20 drops of your favorite essential oil
For homemade shaving cream with shea butter for women, I used 2 tablespoons of Weleda Sea Buckhorn Body Oil. I will say the next time I make this I will be using a stronger essential oil. Shea butter is overpowering, and hard to mask with essential scent. It is not a terrible smell but it is hard to mask with a light scented oil. I would use lavender, eucalyptus, mint, rosehip, patchouli, ect.
Add all ingredients into an electric mixer and whip until stiff peaks form. Add mixture into an air tight jar and store in a cool place.
