Good Cook asked us Good Cook Kitchen Experts to create something savory or sweet and to get creative with it. I chose savory and wanted to create something that could be used as an appetizer. These mini chili bowls with homemade chili do take a little extra time but they are simply amazing and are totally worth the effort!

Mini chili bowls using homemade bread bowls and chili recipe.
Ingredients
  • For bread bowls
  • 2 cups white flour sifted
  • 1 cube butter
  • 1/2 milk
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • dash sugar
  • dash salt
  • Sweet Creations Bake-A-Bowl pan
  • For Chili
  • 2 16 oz cans diced tomatoes with green chilies
  • 1 16 oz can red kidney beans
  • 1 can Progresso Italian tomato soup
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • dash salt & pepper
  • For Toppings
  • 4 oz shredded cheddar cheese
  • sour cream
Instructions
  1. For bread bowls
  2. Add ingredients to a kitchenaid or hand mixer until thoroughly mixed and dough forms a ball. Remove from device and place on floured surface. Roll out pieces of dough into a circle and place in Bake-A-Bowl Pan. Bake on 350 for 15-20 minutes.
  3. For chili
  4. pan fry ground beef and then drain oil. Add to pan all ingredients with exception of seasonings. Stir and add seasonings. Cook for 15 minutes and then top into bread bowls. Top with toppings.
