I remember sitting up in the hospital bed, crying my eyes out, and my parents came into the ward, dressed me in a beautiful new (what felt like a party dress) dress, bundled me up and took me home, without even checking nursing staff to see if it was ok……….the childrens’ hospital never came looking for me either.
I know that this may sound more like a painful memory, but can you imagine the joy at seeing my parents, AND having a new party dress:-)
