Gorton’s Seafood Challenge & Giveaway
My family is always looking for new innovative ways to eat fish. If you know my blog you know that my husband is obsessed with fishing and we rarely purchase fish because he is always bringing home freshly caught Salmon, Steel head and Trout. I had the wonderful opportunity to participate Gorton’s Seafood Challenge! I think I might have tried Gorton’s in the past but it has been a really long time so I did not remember it that well.
Gorton’s supplied me with 5 free coupons towards any of their 200 fish products, 2 oven mitts, an apron and spatula. In return, I get to blog about my experience and let my wonderful readers know what I think about Gorton’s!
For this challenge I wanted to choose items that I normally wouldn’t eat. I got Skillet Crisp tilapia, Potato Crunch Fish Fillets, Beer Battered Shrimp, Popcorn Shrimp and Fish Sticks.
Here are the dishes we made using some of these products,
I think my favorite was the beer battered shrimp tacos with lime sauce. DELICIOUS and so simple to make! I was pleasantly surprised by Gorton’s products. Each product I chose taste fresh and were easily adaptable to many different recipes, including some on Gorton’s website.
Seafood is lower in calories than beef, pork or chicken. The omega fatty acids in fish has been proven to aid in brain development, heart health and lower your cholesterol and overall health.
Gorton’s has over 20 products that are all under 200 calories, like the Skillet Crisp Garlic & Hern Tilapia. You can see a more complete list of the 20 available products here
