There isn’t much not to love about Bobsweep Pet Hair Robotic Vacuum Cleaner and Mop. It is literally the best robot vacuum on the market for the price and reliability. As a busy working mom, I’ve been wanting a robotic vacuum for a long time so I was really excited to be contacted by Bobsweep. They asked me to review one of their popular robotic vacuums and of course I said yes. After speaking with my rep, I decided to go with the pet hair version since I have dogs.

I have 2 dogs in my home but only one is a high shedding breed. Like other GSD owners I experience a great amount of dog hair throughout my home. Luckily my boy is only half GSD so it is not as bad as other GSD owners. I still have to vacuum daily to keep up on the pet hair or it starts to take over our home.

I like that Bobsweep allows me to schedule specific times to vacuum. I don’t even have to be home for it to sweep the floors. It has a remote control, making it more convenient for the busy mom who is multitasking. I can operate the robot from my kitchen while loading the dishwasher. I can even turn it on from the comfort of my bed.

It’s also low noise so if I do turn it on at night it isn’t waking up the whole house, making it the best robot vacuum for people with small children or pets. The dog did not like it at first. My bigger guy barked at it for a couple weeks. Now he could care less its there. My little dude never noticed it but he’s also not scared of anything. Probably a benefit of the “little dog syndrome”

The Best Robot Vacuum Features for Busy Moms

Bobsweep Pet hair Robotic Vacuum & Mop has many awesome features that a busy mom would enjoy, including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, UV sterilizing and air purifying. Key features that were important to me were that it could go over low and high pile carpet, it would thoroughly pick up dog hair, and that it had a long battery life. It didn’t hurt that I could set it and leave it to do its thing either.

What I found after playing with it for a few months is there are some issues when using it on low pile cheap apartment carpet

it struggled to pickup pet hair from the sides of the wall
pet hair gets built up in the sweeper bristles underneath the robot
battery life is shorter than expected. Dies about 25 minutes of use
bumps into pets
suction could be better. It is not as strong as I would have liked
more of a duster than an actual vacuum

I tried Bobsweep at a friend house that has higher quality carpet and it worked fine. For some reason it does not like my carpet.

On hardwood and vinyl it works perfectly well. I had no issues using it on the non carpet areas of my home. But my apartment is mostly carpet, and the pet hair has been an issue because it gets wrapped around the sweeper part underneath. I have to clean it out during vacuuming 1-2 times each session. If you do not have a high shedding dog I doubt this would be a problem for you.

I did really like that when Bobsweep’s battery is running low it finds its charging station and moves to it, loads onto the charging dock, and will indicate when fully charged. This feature is done exceptionally well, and the transition to the charging station is seamless.
