Day 24 Summer Blog challenge: Favorite eco-friendly thing to do
This is a hard one because I always try to be eco friendly. I’m going to have to say that my favorite is reusing the tons of newspapers I buy every month. You know as a deals blogger I buy the paper for the coupon inserts but I’ll admit I read only a few stories from it and I have a lot of left over paper. I feel guilty tossing that much away but of course whatever is left over goes to recycling. It used to be, before moving, that I would use it in my garden beds as mulch but since moving to an apartment I’m not able to do that. So I’m thinking of new innovative ways of using it. Lately I’ve been experimenting with creating start boxes for seedlings. Other ways I use it is in my parrot’s cage (under the cage grate so she can’t get it. I wouldn’t use newspaper to start plants that you’re going to eat as the ink is said to be poisonous.
Here’s a youtube video that I found helpful when I was starting out making eco friendly pots.
