Win $1,500 CVS Gift Card!
We don’t have a CVS here but those that do I am really jealous of. I have seen all the goodies you can get at CVS and in my opinion the store is way better than Walgreens and Rite Aid. If you won this $1,500 gift card you would be set for the entire year, more likely for a couple years with all the freebies available at CVS. Just click the picture to enter.
Review of – nuNAAT Treatment Curly Hair Collection
My daughter has naturally curly hair and add to that her Hispanic heritage we found that NAAT’s Currly Hair Collection worked extremely well to restore her curls, properly moisturize it and return her hair to it’s natural state and texture. You can see on the left her curls are just wavy, that’s because she has been using the straightener too much, not using heat expectant and it has damaged her hair. The picture on the right was taken after she had used the product line for about a week, you can see the big difference nuNAAT made.
M got to review
Curly Hair With Cuppuacu & Keratin Shampoo and Conditioner, Treatment Curly Leave-In conditioner and Hair Intensive Mask. You can find these products on nuNAAT.com
The products smell really good and did not leave her hair feeling greasy like other ethnic products have. The products seemed to be made specifically for Latina and Brazilian women even though the products do say that they can be used for any ethnicity they did appear to work better in her hair than in mine but my hair is just slightly wavy.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Crestline Elementary School Needs Your Help
On Saturday, February 3rd Crestline Elementary School located in Vancouver, WA caught on fire and burnt down. The damage is so great that it is not even salvageable. I am heartbroken for the students and the staff. The damage to this school is so severe and it’s going to be very expensive to build a new school. The Evergreen School District is already experiencing a financial crisis over the dwindling school budget and they do not have the funds to replace everything that was lost.
There is an immediate need for cash donations and school supplies. If you are not able to help with cash or school supplies another thing that works much like cash are Box Tops. Box Tops are located on many name brand food. you can see the full list of brands here
If you can help please do NOT send anything to Emily’s Frugal Tips.
Instead, ship or donate to Evergreen School District #114 13501 NE 28th St Vancouver, WA 98682

Daily Tip ~ DIY Household Cleaners
One way to save money is to find every day household inexpensive food items and mix them with water instead of purchasing pricier cleaning products. For example vinegar and water can clean the table while bleach and water is good for bathrooms and tiles.

Daily Tip ~ Keeping to Budget
For food budget, only pay cash and keep to a weekly amount. For example, limit yourself to $100 per week and keep the money in an envelope, paying for food with only money from that envelope. Make sure to use coupons to help stretch those dollars even further.
Crockpot Failure
I decided to start using my crock pot again to save more money and to hopefully lose weight and get healthy. The pounds have been creeping on lately and since I am already overweight all the fast food stops we have been doing have to stop-immediately. So crock pot heaven here I come or so I thought.
It may come as a surprise to you but I can’t cook that well at all. I know I post my daily recipes and they are always delicious but that is only because I spend HOURS and sometimes days just to make them that way, and well my husband (the chef) kind of helps me out with them most of the time to
So after you now know that I can’t cook you should not get too shocked about this epic fail of crock pot puke to the left of you. See, it started out as leek & potato soup but the teen drama queen threw away my swanson stock and the 10 yr old garbage disposal drunk my cream (for what reason and how he’s not sick I do not know).
I was feeling rather lazy and decided to not run to the store for the needed items, instead I would just play it safe by adding Italian chicken sausage balls to it and hopefully it would taste like chicken gumbo soup by morning. Right before I headed to bed I got a wild idea to add red rice to the dish, not realizing that this rice expands and holds in water which resulted in swollen rice mush.
And like the awesome mother I am, I tried and failed miserably to feed it to the kids. The teen smirked at me as if I were out of my mind plus I am pretty sure she wrinkled her little nose at me. The 10 yr old will usually eat anything I hand to him so I figured he would be an easy victim. He sat down with a bowl of chicken gumbo, potato & leek crock pot puke and immediately had a bite. His face turned green rather quickly…
He excused him self to visit the bathroom and came back explaining that he had a big lunch at school and was not hungry after all, perhaps he would just have an orange or banana instead. Knowing my husband has no problem letting me know my food sucks I decided against having him try crock pot puke, so down the garbage disposal it went.
I do feel bad about wasting the food but if no one in your family will eat it and you have no dog and no other ideas then what do you do (I doubt a dog would touch it either).
I want to hear about your epic failures in the kitchen. What is the worse thing you have cooked or ruined? make a blog comment and I will choose 2 winners who will get an envelope of high value coupons.
